It is a Living Thing!

What happens when a plastic bottle just doesn't want to be thrown away? Check out this awesome recycling video, a recycling public service announcement created by UMD students in Amy Versnik Nowak's Community Health Methods course. One of the students is Hannah S., a former Sustainability Office intern.

Wondering how to recycle at UMD? All bottles and cans can be recycled in a single barrel, which is called a co-mingled stream.  Things which belong in these bins:

*All plastics with a recycling symbol

*Aluminum Cans

*Tin Cans

*Plastic Bottles

*Glass Bottles

Paper is also considered co-mingled. All of these paper products may be recycled on campus in paper recycling bins:

*Office Mix

*Cardboard

*Catalogs

*Magazines

*Paperback Books
